True story! 

I guess there are few things money can't buy in Las Vegas.

My today's story is probably the exception to the rule.

What happens in Vegas Stays... On Steemit :D

Before traveling to Vegas I was mentally prepared for the maximum.

However, I learned that there were still some things able to completely surprise me.

The very best part of funny anecdotes is definitely to share them with as much people as possible. So here we go, steemians! 

Everything started with the elevator selfie.

A couple of days before leaving New York (my first travel destination) towards Las Vegas, one of my favorite PRO surfers published a selfie on Instagram showing him and a friend in the elevator of a five star resort in Vegas.

By chance this was exactly the place me and my friend @knircky were supposed to stay during the first part of our vacation in Vegas: the legendary ARIA.

What a cool coincidence! 

I defininitely wanted to take the opportunity to personally salute one of my surfing idols!

So I commented his elevator selfie as follows:

Obviously I don't want to get that guy into trouble so don't ask me about names :-)

Not surprisingly I didn't get any reply on that comment.

However, when I did that famous elevator selfie of mine (first picture above) I remembered his.

So I sent him a direct message via Instagram.

I just thought it could be a nice opportunity to meet such a great surfer at this outstanding place.

Probably I'm too naive sometimes 😄

The following conversation proves that little Marly still needs to learn much about Vegas, haha!

Wait! What? He seriously agreed on a meeting?

I couldn't believe it. 

First thing I did was showing the messages to my buddie @knircky who was with me at that point of time. I told him that he would need to be my photographer since I definitely would need to do a picture with that LEGEND.

I mean I obviously wanted to share this encounter with you guys here on steemit :-)

In the end I didn't get the picture but I did get something else: the funniest anecdote to tell ever! 

To be honest I needed to read that conversation like 10 times to really believe that it truly happened - LOL.

Wow! You ask for a meeting and get the whole package?! 😅

Welcome to Las Vegas, @surfermarly! Damn!

That happend at my very first evening in Vegas. What a start, haha!

Obviously, the fact that I play poker somehow saved me right from the start.

You may only imagine how @knircky and I have laughed about that story!!!

Hmm... I bet these sky suites are a blast!

Sorry steemians, I would have loved to photograph them for you.

But I guess I'm just too old for these kind of stuff, haha!
