Five little known facts about Iceland to help you before your trip.
Iceland is a dream destination for many tourists. The star attractions include the northern lights, hot water springs, and the lovely scenery, to mention a few. However, it's best to take some precautions to avoid disappointment.
Here are a few tips:
The weather is deceitful. It may suddenly change from warm and sunny to cold, cloudy, windy in thirty minutes! Careful!!
Sighting of the Northern lights is tough. You must plan to stay for at least a week to be on the safe side.
Public convenience facilities can be difficult to find. Also, you need to pay if you manage to spot one.
A bath in the warm springs can damage your hair or make them stiff due to the presence of silica. Please apply conditioner before taking a dip.
Water smells like rotten eggs because of high sulphur content. But tastes fine and fit for consumption.
Enjoy your travels!
HAHA can you put something in the water to make it smell better? I have been curious about Iceland ever since reading a Vanity Fair article.
Great. What's your recommendation to help smell better? :)
Excellent pictures. As you point out there definitely is a price to pay for the natural beauty of Iceland. Thank you for sharing your experience. https://steemfollower.com/?r=6987

Aurora Borealis is the most beautiful thing. I saw it once and was amazed by the scenery
You're lucky! Where did you view it?

No, I haven't yet, Nainaz. :(
Finland is the only country in the Scandinavian region I have been. Then for a depressive like me, winter is pretty bad with hardly a couple of hours of sunlight!
They are lovely countries - peaceful, friendly, and open to immigrants. The irony is that people rarely immigrate up north even within the EU. Again, they are the most expensive places in the world!
Well, I have a huge list for 2018/2019. Let's see what is in store. :)

Gautam
