Hot August Night 2017 .. Reno, Nevada .. FLEX YOUR MUSCLE .. Cars that is!! .. This year a Camaro was the winner!!!

HISTORY:
Established August 1, 1986 Reno Nevada at the Sparks Convention Center. A mass crowd of approximately 10,000 spectators gathered to enjoy a live event to include Righteous Brothers, Wolfman Jack and Jan & Dean - Nostalgia of the 50's and 60's was unleashed!! Wonderful times .. cars & rock and roll. The weather on that day, August 1, 1986 was HOT .. Hot August Nights was born!!!

As does every year, my husband and his favorite group of friends went to Hot August Nights this past weekend, August 12th and 13th. I have a lot of wonderful photos to share with you. For all of you that love classic cars, I sure hope you enjoy this.

The main event at Hot August Nights takes place at the Peppermill Hotel - This also happens to be the place that our Friends stayed while there - Just an FYI, you need to book your rooms at least 1 year in advance and they are fricken costly .. ran them $486 per night with a 2 night minimum. We are fortunate enough to have a motor home - my husband stayed in the Wal Mart parking lot approximately 2 miles out and took the taxi in to town :)

The main car show takes place at the Peppermill each year - at night they host the car parade as well. https://www.peppermillreno.com/

Inside the hotel they have these HUGE screens thru out - the pictures on the screens change regularly to different places around the world - here are just a few of them.

This years Grand Prize Winner of the 'Overall Show-N-Shine' was a HALF MILLION DOLLAR 1969 Chevy Camaro!!!

The BRIGHT lights of the main strip are beautiful!! The city had the main strip closed off to traffic which made it nice to take the most important photos :)
