Krause Springs in Austin Texas

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Krause Springs is made up of over 32 natural springs that feed a man made and natural pool. It's located about 30 miles west of Austin, in Spicewood Texas. It was stunningly gorgeous! If I were ever back in Texas during the summer, I'd probably go camping- just to be able to swim in the springs at night would be worth $15/adult.

We enjoyed some beer on the property while we relaxed in the hammock and explored the grounds.

The pool and the Springs were really cold to me, and I avoided going fully under, but I'm a wee bit of a wuss about the cold.

It also has a pretty stone grotto where you can stand to escape the heat (not that we needed to in the Texas spring- the weather was a gorgeous 70 degrees the majority of the time, and I have never felt so hydrated- the humidity was amazing).

Two other couples walked by, checking to see if the hammock was available while we were relaxing in it. We may or may not have fallen asleep (I have photographic evidence, but someone won't let me post it).

The butterfly garden is full of wind chimes that seem to ring in harmony (see the last video) no matter where you stand.

The springs look like a really lovely, pleasant, and comfortable place to be, especially on a hot afternoon! :D

😄😇😄

@creatr

It wasn't too hot, only 70 degrees, but I imagine summers in Austin are hot! It was lovely for sure!

Happy you found this local gem. It's not quite the luxurious scenery you have there in Coloradical, but it's a perfect family-friendly camping spot for us Austin folks.

I would absolutely rate it with some of the camping in Denver! I haven't been to anything quite like it before

Thank you! I appreciate all you do for the minnows OCD!

Thank you, for the wind chimes — taking those with me to dreamland... 🙇🏻‍♂️✨

Right? I might create an audio loop of it just to recapture the moment when I'm feeling down... so lovely

Like an open-air cathedral--listening to it, now, with my morning tea :) Even the picture is gorgeous!

Looks like you two really got relaxed there! I love the pics and the vibes from your energy. If I make it back down that way, I'll be checking out these springs!

You should! They were stunning for sure, and not that expensive to visit during the day. The nearby town of marble falls had a lot of stuff to see too!
