Vlasin Lake - beauty at your fingertips

The Vlasin Lake is located in the eastern part of the Republic of Serbia, near the mountains of Chemernik, Gramada, and Vardenik, as well as the Vlasina Plateau, about 100 km away from Sofia. It is a wonderful natural place for relaxation, fishing, culinary tourism, including the celebration of the famous meat specialties from the Serbian cuisine - hunters, bugs, and bells, as well as their fabulous crema.

In the place of Vlasin Lake until the middle of the 20th century, there were peat bogs, which wisely turned into an artificial water basin for restoring tourism and fishing, covering an area of about 15,000 square meters and a depth of 30-40 meters. Its main attraction is the several floating islands formed by peat, which "go into action" in May - June when the water is high enough. The other time is anchored on the shore. The most famous floating island is named after the local Moby Dick, the white whale of the novel by Herman Melvis, the American writer.

The lake is calm, blissful and the air is clean. The houses on the banks of the shore look cozy with the tiny flower-colored autumn flowers in the front, and the white motor boats on the harbor tell us that fishing here lives up to the first snow. Fishermen have been proud to say that the creeks from the lake are large, very tasty and easy and enjoyable.

The nature around Lake Vlasin is virginly beautiful, the sun sets in the distance and leaves a golden trail behind. The trees are bent over the water and embrace the latest sun rays. Birds dangle like brooches on them and contemplate the sky horizon silently. Silence is disturbed only by the wind, which reminds itself of itself by shaking the branches of the trees gently.

The day goes to open a place of the night. The moment between the sunbath and the coming of the moon is perhaps that magical time that the waiter told me about. This beauty is contagious. It enchants you, intoxicate your senses, and engages you in thoughts about harmony in nature, the power of earthly laws, and the place of man in them. The romance of this extraordinary moment deserves to be shared with a loved one to experience together what nature only gives to the chosen ones. Because when you are loved, your heart and your face are naturally beautiful, and the world becomes nicer and more perfect.

The charming Vlasin lake has become a real tourist hit in recent years. The lake was built on the site of the former Vlasin Marsh. It attracts the attention of tourists with its picturesque shores, rich flora and fauna

The lake has an area of 15,000 square meters and is situated among virgin, ecologically clean nature. It is situated at 1211 meters above sea level, making it the highest and largest artificial lake in Serbia
