By train through Europe - 17th August - Zagreb
After waiting out the midday heat, we applied sunscreen and made our way to a nearby lake. By “nearby” I mean that we walked a bit over an hour through the sun. Bad planning on my hand, as we arrived there without any cash, and nobody wanted to take our credit card.
About an hour of more walking later, we found an ATM and sad down at an ice cream café, where an incredibly friendly waitress not only translated everything for us, but also gave us the good feeling of being welcome. Which is sometimes needed a lot.
Not yet having eaten anything “proper”, we then made our way to a pizzeria. There, we managed to totally overestimate our stomachs and underestimate the pizza sizes. Luckily, they packed the rest for us in a box. Totally worth it, it was super delicious!
I know the problem, when you're in foreign country and forgot to take cash with you xD It can be really annoying.
Here in Norway you can ALWAYS pay with a credit card. Even parking meters :D
And I think, just when it‘s possible to pay everything with your credit card in your home country, you are mich more likely not to think about getting local money if you go somewhere else.
