Wanderlust Pocket #14 - The Magic Of Hiking

Hello Steemit Friends,

Hiking basically can be described as a walk of entertainment in different places, such as mountains, open areas or regions rocky cliffs. This type of outdoor exercise is very simple and economically as it does not require any exercise or equipment machine. The player just needs to walk according to your stamina.

I have decided to travel to Kao Yai National Park which is one of the most favorable hiking areas in Thailand. It is a 2-3 hours drive from Bangkok. Covering 2168 sq km and 4 provinces including Saraburi, Nakhon Ratcha Sima, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok. There are many different trails starting from 2,3 up to 8 Kilometers. It took us 4 and a half hours to complete the longest trail with a forest guide required.

Why is hiking great is because on getting into the wilderness a bit, first, you realize just how silent it is out there. There is no noise of traffic, no one yelling at the car in front of them. There are no sirens or car alarms. There are no furnaces or air conditioners making all sorts of noise. The quiet you find in the wilderness is so peaceful and relaxing. You begin to notice the conversations of birds and the sound of leaves in the wind. These simple experiences help you recognize the beauty and majesty of life.

The wilderness offers an out from the stress of life. It is a great break from the daily grind, it frees you from the tyranny of the city and the constancy of artificial stimuli that is modern living. Being in the wilderness is the ultimate opportunity for quiet thought and introspection.

Going into the wilderness, outside the view of others, allows you to test yourself. Bringing nothing with you but your North Face Backpack and some water and experiencing the woods on your own two feet teaches you just what you are made of. When you realize that utterly nature is unphased to your presence, notice that the only thing helping you move forward is your resolve. This experience teaches that you can do anything.

Hiking is such an excellent exercise relatively easy on your body. Getting out each day to go for a hike makes a huge difference in keeping a healthy body weight and fighting off diseases like diabetes and cancer.

Master sufficient knowledge. Easily, you can find a lot of information on hiking. To know what to expect and how to do during the hiking, read the roots. All varieties of resources can be found online to help you with tricks and tips about the activity. The useful tips include tips about safety, first aid,survival skills and wilderness medicine, etc. On this trip our guide has provided everything we needed to be safe. He is very knowledgeable about the forest as he has been familiar with these wood since a young age. As we walked, he could tell by the smell that we are approaching an area the wild elephants has passed. Wild elephants can be dangerous as the are "wild". He advised us if in case of encounter, we must zigzag through the tree to prevent any danger as the elephant might be with their young ones or in heated season but they are not capable to run around trees due to their sizes.

Make sure you keep fit before going on hikes. Hiking and backpacking are physical activities that need energy and strength. It is a bit hard but you really have to keep yourself in good shape. Do some excises such as bicycling, rowing, weight lifting, swimming, jogging, but it is not advisable to do too strong excises.

On this Trip we stayed at Muti Maya which is an amazing and very private hotel. It is no more than 10 Kilometers to the national park. They offer visitors a beautiful pool villa right by the golf course. My favorite is the bathtub and awesome breakfast selections.

Some people have been living a sedentary life for most of their waking time, for most of the people who have not made any hikes, it will take a long time for their bodies to break in hiking. Try to engage in the exercises for building your stamina, strengthening your body and giving you sufficient energy. Rejuvenate your mind and soul with the forest and let it have some peace.
Life is for the living !!!....

Hey Sue, wonderful post! I also do think that especially nowadays with having a screen in front of our faces almost 24/7. It’s easy to forget to go out and explore nature and it’s beauty. Wow the tree in the first photo looks very old. The food is also very delicious.
I dont think that they need any experience to do Hiking. All what matters is good company :)

It is very very old !! These wood are protected nowadays !. Sometimes you not need any company but yourself and good old trees ;)
