The Gili Islands - A Paradise

Let´s go to the beach!

The Gili Islands are located between Bali and Lombok and pretty well known around Asian Travelers as a small Paradise to relax as well as to party, depending on which of the Island you stay.

Most of you might have heard of Gili Trawangan, Gili Air as well as Gili Meno. But actually there are many more within this Island group, which are still pretty much unknown and quite free of Tourism. Anyways I´ll focus on the three biggest ones for this Post :)

• Gili Trawangan
  It´s known as the biggest Island of the three and the Bali weekend getaway for Party lovers. Whenever you arrive at the harbor of the island you´re directly next to the party hotspot and keep passing by clubs and bars for a long time, whatever direction you go along the main road.
  
  Nonetheless Gili Trawangan got a lot more to offer than just good Parties. Next to some beautiful beaches and really nice dive sites you may as well find the one or other hidden, really local place somewhere that let´s you experience the taste of Indonesia at its finest.

• Gili Air
  Gili Air is always seen as the small Brother of Gili Trawangan. It´s slowly developing one nice hotel after the other and really offers some awesome places to enjoy. Being the Island having the highest permanent population you´ll find more smaller places owned by locals than on the other Islands.
  
  It´s more or less the Island you may find some quiet time on, while still having some opportunities to get some action around the harbour in the evening. It´s not as good to Party as on Gili Trawangan, but you may definitely find some cool locations as well.

• Gili Meno
  The smallest Island of those three is known as the Honeymoon Place due to the fact that it´s very quiet and simply got the most amazing Beaches as well as some very nice hotels.
  
  You won´t find a lot of action happening there, so that I wouldn´t like to stay there for too long, but of course it´s the perfect place whenever you´re only looking for some time with your loved partner ;)
  
  

Overall the Gili Islands are simply an amazing place on our planet earth and definitely worth to spend some time on. So if you ever happen to be around the area or staying in Bali for holidays you might really think about doing a short stopover on one of those three Awesome Islands.
