I had the joy of spending a few months in Quezon City, Bagio, and some outlying provinces in 1987. There is no society I've experienced that's quite as hospitable and gentle-spirited as what I found in the Philippines.

One kind of interesting social rule: When making plans to get together, you've got to have three 'yesses' before it's really a plan :)

OH! And if you hear a merchant going down the street yelling something that sounds kind of like, "PIZZA BUBBLES!" it's not. It's a shoe shine service. Yeah.
