38th Japanese Autumn Festival on Guam!! It's tomorrow!

It means "Hello!" in Chamorro local language on Guam.

This season has come ! Every year, people here are having a Japanese style festival here on Guam.

Why?

Because of the Japanese' occupation since 1941-1944,Japan and Guam have strong connection.The occupation itself was short term but still many Japanese people
stayed on the island and made their family here. Descendants of those people who came to Guam when world war 2 occured are now already third, forth generation. Some of them I met and they said they have some Japanese blood but they didn't know a lot about Japan also not all of them spoke Japanese.

I believe this festival is great for them as well because they can experience and know more about their roots.
At the festival, they have some food stand with like sushi, takoyaki balls,sashimi, yakisoba noodle and lots of other delicious food.
What make it more legit is, there are groups of Japanese performers coming to Guam for the Festival to
do the different kinds of traditional shows! My friend is one of the member of the Executive Committee, and she told me the performers from Japan are coming as Volunteers. I thought it's very cool. They must be enjoying performing and connecting with people to make the festival successful every year.

There is a booth to buy books of ticket. they're $10 for an each book contains $1x 10 tickets. There might be long line for the ticket so I recommend to go early for it.

If you don't make it this year, try coming the one on next year in November!

グアムで日本の秋祭りが開催されます。

場所は、イパオビーチパーク（タモンの街からすぐ）
時間は午後２時〜午後９時まで
日本食の美味しい出店もたくさん！お神輿、踊り、日本の伝統芸のショー、花火と
盛り沢山のお祭りです！

グアムに遊びに来ている方も、住んでいる方も、旅行の予定されている方もいるかと思いますが、”グアムでの日本のお祭り”楽しみましょう。
浴衣で来られる方も去年もたくさんいました！（私も含め）
