Prague, Capital of the Czech Republic

Prague is undeniably an architectural FEAST for the eyes!

St. Vitus Cathedral. This cathedral is such a magnificent example of Gothic architecture and is the largest in the country.

This mechanical clock and astronomical dial dates back to 1410 and is said to be the oldest working clock in the world.

Charles Bridge crosses the Vltava river. Construction started in 1357 under King Charles IV. The bridge alone is magnificent. This is the entrance to the bridge.

You can see Prague Castle in the background (green copper top). I did not make it to the Prague Castle, but it gives me something else to look forward to on the next visit. Just taking a picture of the Castle from Charles Bridge was impressive.

Beautiful archway. Just walking the cobble streets was a pleasure.

That cathedral is stunning! A guy could almost get religious by hanging out in there! LOL

Almost...lol :)

Very nice photos! I love those powder towers! Did you take the walking tour, by chance? Did you get to try the beer up by the cathedral, created by the monks? It's.... divine! I'd go back to Prague just for the beer.

The clock is fun, too. When I was there, we stayed at a hostel about a block up from that clock. Back then, they hadn't figured out how to put the minute and hour had on the same dial. Baby steps.

It looks like you had a good time.

Holy...beer created by the monks, and a walking tour???...I'll have to go back! Lol Thanks for the photo compliments, when I was making the post I was a plotting how I would take the pictures for next time :)

Yeah, those monks are awesome! We got one of each kind to taste, and it was like a color wheel. They had a really good red, but the Czech lager (obviously!) was the best one. They also, apparently, used to buy weird taxidermy and have a museum showing some of the more strange ones. That gem from the walking tour guide :-)

The tower thing in your photo was used to store munitions back in the day. From what I remember (been awhile!) there were others like it that got hit. Apparently, storing your explosives in a cool tower thing makes it a target. Who knew? :-)

Whoa, walking tour sounds amazing! I would like the weird taxidermy too! Thanks for the valuable info!!!

amazing pictures!! reminded me of my time visiting Prague!

I’m glad you got to see Prague. I think it should be on everyone’s bucket list

Those capital cities in the centre of Europe are beautiful and charming all in their unique ways.

But the architecture of Prague is something else!

I have to agree. Prague has an abundance of amazing architecture in a condensed area.

I wish you a happy trip and have enjoyed the trip ,,, Thank you very much for sharing these wonderful pictures of buildings and archaeological places ,,, really it is very wonderful and distinctive, I hope to visit places in one day.
Good luck my dear lady @steem-samiam 🌹😊😉👍👍
