Photos of driving license, insurance and other vehicle related papers to be treated as original by the traffic police.

The Maharashtra Government will issue a notifications to all citizens to carry digital copies of all documents related to the commercial vehicles.

This is a bold move by the government towards a digital environment.

This will avoid the citizen's tension of forgetting the papers at home or the laziness to carry it around.

For this you need to download the digilocker app from playstore and link your adhaar card and scan the necessary documents. When asked to show the documents by a traffic police , you can show the scannned pics from this app.

An official from the office of transport commissioner said, “We want citizens to use the DigiLocker facility of government to store driving licence and registration certificates. If you are asked by a traffic cop, you can simply switch on a smartphone and display your licence along with the vehicle RC.”
