Hello my dear friends! In Kiev it's raining today. And my soul missed you on the fly. And I decided to write a sunny story for you. Today I will tell you about the amazing city of Odessa and about the sights of this city. Odessa is a hero city in the south of Ukraine. Odessa is washed by the Black Sea. Here is the naval base of the Naval Forces of Ukraine.

                                         

                                               

To be honest, most of the beaches for tourists are dirty. Therefore, to get on a nice and clean beach you need to ask the local residents. They will gladly tell you where you better go. I liked the beach Langeron. The beach "Langeron" is located in the park area. T. G. Shevchenko, since 2005, next to him works the largest in Ukraine year-round dolphinarium and oceanarium "Nemo". Also in Odessa every year they hold the "Odessa International Film Festival". This is a very interesting event. Walking through the streets of the city you can see interesting mimes. People cover themselves with bronze, gold, silver paint and entertain passers-by.

      

The city of Odessa is rich in interesting sights and monuments. Here is a monument to Utesov. The monument is on a triangular lane. To take a picture you will be in a long queue. And when you take a photo, then necessarily rub the knee of Utesov and make a wish.

                                         

And here is one of the most important sights of the city. The Potemkin Stairs. This is a tabloid staircase. It leads to the sea. This staircase is an architectural monument of the 19th century. The length of the stairs is 142 meters, and the height is 27 meters. The staircase has 192 steps.

                                          

And near the Potemkin Stairs is the very first monument of Odessa. This monument was installed by the Duke Richelieu (Duke de Richelieu, Armand Emmanuel du Plessis). This is one of the most popular monuments. Duke Richelieu was the mayor of Odessa. He did a lot for the development of the city. The monument is decorated with four planks of brass. These boards depict Mercury, Ceres and Themis. As you know, Themis is a symbol of justice. An interesting fact is that here Themis is depicted with her eyes open. Ceres is a symbol of prosperity and agriculture, and Mercury is a symbol of trade. There is a legend that you need to hold on to the bag of Mercury and you will become rich.
