Hello friends! We continue our virtual journey through the Western Ukraine. In the past my publications, I started to tell you about the prince's castle "Palanok" which is located in the town of Mukachevo.

And today I want to continue to have a tour of this amazing place. So, I said that this castle was built in three tiers. Medieval walls hide a lot of secrets and mysteries.

Cozy Transcarpathian town of Mukachevo located Latorica on the banks of the river. The city was built on a flat, almost flat terrain, without slopes and holmov.Ya already told that the castle was built on a hill of volcanic origin. And then already around impregnable fortress and built the city of Mukachevo, because in those ancient times, when the castle and the city in its infancy, the inhabitants had to protect the house from the numerous enemies.

Why castle called "Palanok"? And because Palanok - this oak paling which surrounded the ditch enclosing the castle hill. Over the stockade once lived smiths, carpenters and other craftsmen working in the fortress. From this stockade happened castle name.
