Return to GR 131 (Day 6) / Návrat na GR131 (Den 6)

in #travel4 years ago

Early in the morning, before sunrise, I was awakened by the moisture on my sleeping bag. That's why I got up early and was ready to shoot the sunrise. But low clouds rolled over our hill, and almost nothing was visible. For a moment, nature showed me the top of Mount Teide.

We had breakfast and went to the town, which was under the hill with plans to buy some supplies. There was nothing in the city, just a resident zone. Luckily, there was a gas station at the highway that was open and had fresh bread. We realized it was Sunday and probably nothing else would be open. And so we went on to the underpass under the highway. We passed through the towns that were on our way quite quickly. We were surprised that there are many empty and dilapidated buildings.

We arrived in La Esperanza just before noon and therefore we wanted to have something to eat and drink. Because it was a Sunday restaurants were also closed. The only thing that was open was two bars in the square. We chose the one that looked more dark with the name La Cuevita (the Cave). Inside were only locals who drank everything. We had a beer and asked if they had anything to eat. The gentleman, behind the bar, took home-made baguettes made by his wife from the fridge. The atmosphere was great, every moment someone new appeared in the bar. He took a beer and a shot and drove back by car. After about the third beer, we also had a shot of rum. At the end, a colleague asked the master if he had an Allen key to repair my tripod that had come loose. The Lord brought a set of tools in Real Madrid colors. So in return we gave shots to every other beer. In the end we were fired last after about 3 pm. Because the gentleman wanted to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.

Do La Esperanza jsme došli lehce před polednem a tudíž jsme si chtěli dát něco k jídlu a pití.

Through the square we set out again on our way to the mountains. We were at GR 131, finally. But just for a moment, because we planned to spend that night at a campsite not far from the mountains. Due to our rather destroyed state we have chosen the shortest and least demanding way.

Vzhledem k našemu dosti zničenému stavu jsme zvolili co nejkratší a nejmíň náročnou cestou.

The path was not as easy as the map looked like. It led through a totally dry forest where the slightest spark would cause disaster. We arrived at the bike path that led us to the campsite. Here was complete hell. Hundreds of people grilling, loud music and screaming children. So we went a little further into a valley that looked calmer. We did not build a tent either, because the landscape was dry and there was no threat of dew, and we tried to be as inconspicuous as possible.

I am surprised that the next day of total pub destruction we arrived at our destination. We walked 14.7 km and climbed 940 meters.

Ušli jsme 14.7 km a překonali převýšení 940 metrů.
