There was a shrine for the mountain god in Choson dynasty.

There was a Choson dynasty in korea during 15th ~ 19th century.
In Choson dynasty, there were shrines to worship the mountain god by the government. Only one shrine is remained which is located in the middle area of Korea
조선 시대에 국가에서 산신에게 제사를 지내는 신전이 있었다. 한국의 가운데에 위치한 계룡산에 3개의 신전이 있었으나 중간의 것만 남고 다 없어졌다.

I visited this shrine because it was interesting for Confucius Choson dynasty to have a ceremony to worship the mountain god which was believed as a superstitious by the Confucian scholars.
유교국가인 조선이 국가차원에서 산신에게 제사를 지낸다는 것은 매우 이상한 일이 아닐 수 없다.

Middle shrine was small but really gorgeous.
중악단은 그리 크지는 않지만 매우 화려했다.

Calligraphy of the board is very powerful
현판의 글씨도 매우 힘이 있었다.

The statues on the roof were well made.
지붕위의 조각상도 잘 만들었다

Decoration under the roof was awesome
처마밑의 장식도 화려했다.

But I was sorry that I couldn't see the original colour. The colour was gone.
원래 단청이 되어 있었으나 지금은 색이 바랬다.

The ceiling was decorated beautifully and there was a ceiling painting.
내부 천정도 매우 화려하게 장식되어 있었고 천정화도 그려져 있었다

One peculiar thing is that I couldn't find the Portal name board. I found it at the other side. This made me curious. Finally I understand the reason why.

한가지 특이한 것은 현관의 이름을 알려주는 현판이 앞이 아니라 뒤에 붙어 있다는 것이다. 왜 그럴까 궁금했는데 현판을 보고 의문이 풀렸다.
The portal name means “Pleasure Hiding House”
이름하여 낙은당, 즐거움을 숨기는 집이라는 의미이다.

In front of the middle shrine, white hydrangeas bloomed with plenty.
중악단 앞에 탐스런 수국이 피어 있었다.
