The destination was constructed by Kayı Boyu tribes from the founding lengths of the Ottoman State. Trusted and loyal settlers were entrusted with the duty of protecting the most important parts of the Ottoman palace in the following periods.
The region where the tourist and historical values of the city are concentrated is mostly "bazaar". The castle located to the north of the city and the Hıdırlık hill to the south have suitable viewing terraces to observe the entire city. In addition, there are museums and exhibition venues in the destination area, operated by the Governorship of Safranbolu and the private sector. The structure known as the Old Government House is now being operated as a museum and exhibition area by the Kaymakam under the name of City History Museum. Apart from these, tourism and cultural organizations are organized in the destination in a periodical and continuous manner.
