Best Treehouse Bar on Koh Phi Phi, THAILAND!

Koh Phi Phi is a great island to hop to if you're looking for a weekend of great views, clear water, scuba diving, partying, boat riding, party-boat-riding, bar hoping, and ultimately finding yourself a bit too hungover on the beach. Well, when the sunny rays start to get to you, I found just the right spot to escape to.

The Treehouse bar, located right next to The Blanco city hostel and a short walk up the Slinky's beach ally. Is hands down my favorite bar in all of Koh Phi Phi. Mind you, everyone is different and what I really like in a bar and what you really like in a bar -in terms of atmosphere, music, the more subjective things- may differ. However , in my personal opinion, it's hands down the best on the island.

To give you a sense of the place I've included several pictures of that hot sunny day. The Treehouse bar is packed with fans that keep the place as cool as the reasonably priced drinks and as mellow as the reggae atmosphere. This bar is served up best during the day, for at night it gets rather crowded. There's better bars/nightclubs nearby for dancing and debauchery anyway. The Banana Bar, which is easily seen from the Treehouse bars open air design, is an excellent next stop after night falls, if you're looking for a place to party.

On January 1st, after a long night of partying, I had breakfast with friends and we proceeded to the Treehouse Bar. By the way, the reason it's called the Treehouse bar is mostly for the aesthetic and because it's built on the second floor of..another bar. Quite frankly, the first floor bar isn't my scene and I'm not even sure of it's name. It's kind of funny though, because at night the outside access to the staircase that leads up to the Treehouse Bar is blocked off and you're kind of forced to walk through the bar below to access the staircase. It was either a marketing ploy or an odd deal between the two bars, either way I don't care. For I was always headed straight for the Treehouse.

There's a birds nest, an upper deck if you will. On this particularly sweltering day it didn't see much use though, because even the multiple fans couldn't keep it as cool as it was at the bars level.

What a fantastic place to rest and relax! The bartender/DJ was playing some real mellow West Coast hip-hop and reggae throughout the day, beautiful stuff! It was a reggae bar after all hahaha

So that must be why the power went out! For real though, I watched this guy bat those electric (telephone/internet?) lines for waaaaaay too long. Classic Thailand!
