The small town is small, and we arrived only for a few hours, so that we could see only the castle itself, which seemed to me somewhat gloomy, but it is no wonder that he is already 11 centuries old.

It is said that life in Amboise was delicious. The first owners gave him the name of the castle, from which he was selected by Charles VII, and several centuries later Louis XI gave the castle to Charlotte of Savoy, which he did not even like, but this is a separate story ...

In 1516, at the invitation of the king, Leonardo da Vinci himself arrived and settled in Amboise. During the luxurious festive and official receptions organized by Leonardo as a payment for the accommodation provided, mechanical figures depicting animals were placed in the halls of Amboise, when pressed on the breast of whose amazed guests sprinkled "snow-white lilies and fragrant roses," and over the heads of the stunned public circled " flying cars".
