Lyon - the pearl of the Renaissance
Lyon - one of the very interesting cities of France, situated on the river Rhone. History of Lyon stretches back to the ancient Romans, when Lyon was a centre 3 Gallium. The city is very ancient – it is more than 2 000 years, was founded by the Romans in 43 BC, Then it became the capital of Roman Gaul. In this city in the XV century, focused a large part of the intellectual and social elite of the country.
It is located in the Rhone lowlands on earth, which is replete with beautiful vineyards and picturesque gardens. And how many of the city's most interesting sights are located almost at every step. Here many tourists taking selfies on the memory.
In Lyon you will immediately be asked to look at the ancient Basilica of the nineteenth century (Notre-Dame de Fourviere) with a wonderful, amazing monuments. From here you can admire the impressive panorama of the city opens from the observation deck of the Basilica.
You can go by cable car from Vieux Lyon to tour the narrow streets and visit the squares of the Trinity and Saint-Georges. I advise you to visit Park of Fourier, with preserved parts of the Gallo-Roman amphitheatre, which was built in the 1st century BC, the Emperor Tiberius believed that the capital of the Three Gallium the city of Lugdunum (now Lyon) is simply obliged to have its own amphitheatre.
And if you find yourself on the biggest squares in Europe with fountains, called Bellkor, you will see and allegorical figures of the inhabitants of warm seas, remarkable fountains, they work here year round, but turn them off only in extreme cold.
