For the first time I saw this majestic building from the Danube, my subscribers already know that when I come to a new city, first of all I buy an excursion to the boat, and I consider all the sights on the water.

So it happened in Budapest. I have long wanted to see the blue Danube, and now my dream came true. The building of the Hungarian parliament can not be overlooked simply impossible. This is a grandiose structure and it is located right on the banks of the Danube. However, the parliament was being built for 19 years according to the drawings of Imre Steindl. This is the longest building in the whole of Hungary and one of the largest government residences in Europe. The length of the parliament building is 268 meters, and the width is 123 meters, it can be seen from almost everywhere, in height it reaches almost 100 meters.

The parliament building is the largest in Hungary, all the premises in one day and can not be bypassed. You can go to parliament through the "Lions Gate" - this is the main entrance, and he is very handsome. It seems that you are met at once by several dozen Hungarian kings, by them you will not pass by. And the walls and ceilings are decorated with huge paintings and frescoes. I so generally went, having thrown back a head, very much all here looks magnificently, and amazes with beauty and quantity.

In the Parliament itself there are more than 600 rooms and halls, a lot of stairs and picturesque courtyards, on which you can walk and breathe the Danube air. I was even lost there, I do not remember what I was looking at, but my group went to another floor, but on what it was not clear!

And the Hungarian language is not Ukrainian or Bulgarian for you, it is terribly complex, and it was not only necessary to understand it, but it is necessary to pronounce the words correctly on it, and at the very few people it turned out, a certain training was required. Thanks met fellow countrymen, together they understood these labyrinths.

Numerous halls contain interesting panels, stained-glass windows, paintings. Sculptures, and the interiors of the parliament are decorated in a medieval manner. Around there is much gilding, more than 40 kilograms of gold have been used to decorate the interior rooms and offices, halls and halls. Everything here is very pompous, glitters and you can walk, and spend hours looking at all this splendor. I usually did not visit these places often, so I was very interested. I wanted to participate in the meetings of the Hungarian Parliament myself, or at least sit on one of them as a guest.

The main state symbols of Hungary are stored here, in the dome hall of the parliament: the crown of St. Stephen, the scepter, the power and the sword. All this you can see by coming here on an excursion. And the first 20 minutes of every hour near these regalia is an honor guard in historical uniform.

You can make the most picturesque views of the Parliament from Buda, from Gellert Hill, if you climb one of the balconies of the Fishermen's Bastion. Particularly beautiful parliament in the evening and at night, the spectacle truly fascinates.

There is also another unforgettable place in Budapest - it's a museum of marzipans, which I often recall until now. So many interesting things there, but this parliament building from marzipan even decided to take a picture. Pay attention to what all is effectively executed, every detail, each turret in its place. It's a pity that we just could not try anything there, although we still purchased the sets from marzipan, and our relatives and friends were happy.
