The palace of Municipality in my city (Pistoia, Italy)
Today I take some pics inside of our palace of Municipality. The name of this Palace is Palazzo of Giano, from the name of an ancient Podestà (chief) of the city.
It was built in the 14° century and it has a rectangular plan.
There is a beautiful courtyard with a large stone staircase, on which sits the symbol of the city: the Micco ( a bear with his cloak in chess).
In the center of the courtyard there is a sculpture of Marino Marini, a famous contemporary sculptor who was born in Pistoia.
