#Georgia Travel Diary: The Story of Migle or "Why We Exceedingly Need Souls Like This" !

As I said, I met a beautiful soul during the time I was residing at Misha’s! . Although I encountered many amazing characters during my travels, Migle! was probably one of the few whom I met that touched my heart. When going through the stories of all these great characters, I also learn about myself. And here I should also mention that I don’t aim to romanticize some ordinary people that I have met on the road; but that in my view they possess characteristics that half of us are bereft of.

Migle grew up showing a propensity for loving animals. Most specifically, she was involved with horses since the age of 9. Apparently, one day when she was 14 she received an urgent call from a lady requesting her to train a young horse, which they had rescued from an alcoholic family. When she asked her about the horse’s character and behavior, they responded that she is a sweet and sensitive creature. When Migle got there, she didn’t see a horse but a creature more like a donkey.

Over the course of the first few days, Migle noticed that the poor creature is insensitive towards her surroundings and she kept eating and eating, as she was being beaten when owned by the drunkard family. She was starving and her mother had been sold to the slaughterhouse. She was deeply in a catastrophic condition and for a few days, she only kept consuming food; till after some days she regained her strength. This was fortunate and at the same time nerve-racking. The point was that with the strength, the anger, violence, and aggression also resurfaced.

The poor girl had been kept in a poor condition that she wouldn’t trust any being anymore. She was attacking every human and it was not mere aggression but she profusely wanted every human to be dead. If she found a tiny hole in her stable, she would use that to bite everyone passing from there.

Although the new owner that gave a call to Migle wanted this horse to be a simple horse for tourists, Migle, on the other hand, was thinking of making a rapport with the poor broken-hearted animal. She wanted to know her, give her love and help her forget and forgive the past. She believes in the second chance, not only to the aggressors but also the victims. This is because she was also struggling with almost the same issue in her personal life. Migle has this great forgiving heart that although she remembers the acts, she essays to forgive.

Therefore, on the whole, this was healing for her as much as it was for the horse; and the rapport with the horse was a reciprocal friendship, forgiveness, and efforts to reach harmony. She profoundly felt this connection with the horse and although the whole process of training was mind-numbingly slow and energy consuming, she didn’t exhaust.
So she started the process, but she didn’t actually know how she should do it. Therefore, as the horse was aggressive and she didn’t want to hurt her, she put on a lot of clothes :))
She preferred to protect her rather than beating the animal.

The funny part is that sometimes she would ask people to take care of her and watch her for a couple of hours. The people were obviously fervent to accept this offer and they would come up with an answer like “sure. Of course!” but after an hour they would call saying “Thhhhere is no way we can handle her.”

People were normally afraid of this horse.

After a while, she was told that that’s the time when she can ride the horse. However, she negated this idea as she deemed it unsafe because the horse kept attacking her and everyone around her. Yet, she would try to only climb on her. But, that was it. Migle felt that the horse is the everyday motivation for her. She would see it as a hope that change will incur in the forthcoming future.

After a while, Migle received this call from the lady that in the first place had introduced the horse to her saying:
“Migle, I would really love to give you a chance, but this horse is useless and she is only a mouth and we are selling her to the slaughterhouse. We thought that you would like to buy it. Who else would be willing to do so?”

But the fact is that Migle didn’t have the money and couldn’t afford it. So she called some horse caring associations and one lady who was also involved in the process of Migle taking the control of the horse, gave her hope; and Migle could feel that she is earnestly keen on helping this animal. Therefore, she gave a call to this lady, and whilst she was crying, she told her “They want to sell my horse to the slaughterhouse.”

Then, with the help of other people, they could actually buy the horse and they arranged her condition to improve. So they changed the Vet and her place and food. She was recuperating and getting better and better. She was regaining her power back. But, still she was slightly antagonistic and she was attacking everyone around her. After some time, she would be serene in Migle’s presence as she had managed to gain her trust.

After sometimes, the horse was hers. They just gave it to her and she processed all the paper works and it was hers. She was working with perseverance so that this horse would go on living. The fascinating part is that after half a year of having this horse, Migle’s mother didn’t know that she had a horse; and obviously, she freaked out when she found out about that. But this was her dream, having a horse of her own. Some nights she would cry because she wanted her to continue and get past the unfavorable past and the horse’s mood was so much fluctuating. Oftentimes, it seemed that the progress was very positive but every now and then the aggression would come back. From time to time Migle would even question what she was doing. She would think:

“I’m giving this horse too much.”

After so much work, now the horse is the most gorgeous creature. Not only she is no longer hostile, but she also offers comforts to many people. Many kids pay a visit to Migle to ride this incredible creature. A plethora of people come to her even for therapy because she also gives comfort to them.

Now she has a sponsor and she goes to walk in the forest twice a week and she is in the herd and she has her best friend Pony, crazy pony to save her from everything in the world. Migle believes that this horse has also saved her and her heart. Now Migle is traveling so much and goes on backpacking. So she has looked for some great hearts to look after her. For the moment she is the soul horse for everyone, the horse that gives its soul to people and offers them love and healing. Whoever who is taking care of her looks at her as a comforting creature which is amazing.
