Shait Gumbad Masjid of Bagerhat, Bangladesh.

The Sixty Dome Mosque (Bengali: ষাট গম্বুজ মসজিদ Shaṭ Gombuj Moshjid; more commonly known as Shait Gambuj Mosque or Saith Gunbad Masjid), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a mosque in Bangladesh, the largest in that country from the Sultanate period. It has been described as "the most impressive Muslim monuments in the whole of the Indian subcontinent.

Shait Gumbad Mosque was built by Khan Jahan Ali, a muslim sufi saint around 1450 A.D. The Masjid is built mostly of bricks, measures 192 feet from north to south and 130 feet from east to west. The length of the mosque is equal to 160 feet, its width is slightly less – 108 feet. The walls are unusually thick and very durable light brick. The mosque has an architectural style that strongly resembles other pre-mughal mosques of Bengal. There are four huge circular towers situated at the four corners of the mosque. The towers are a little tapered towards the top, with a hall above the roof level. The upper chamber of the two west towers has four windows, while the east towers has two windows.

The arches are six feet (1.8 m) thick with a slight taper over the hollow and round walls. The mosque also functioned as the court of Khan Jahan Ali. It now attracts a huge number of traveler and visitors every year. The Shat Gombuj mosque is equipped mainly with terracotta and bricks.

Location:

It is located in Bagerhat district in southern Bangladesh which is in Khulna Division. It is about 3 miles far from the main town of Bagerhat.
