Anne Hussain A traveller to PAKISTAN
When I climbed a glacier in Naran- there were no terrorists.
When I defied the wind on a wobbly bridge in Harnoi- there were no terrorists.
When I endured the winding and high Karokaram Highway - there were no terrorists.
When I looked at Rakaposhi from the roof of the world - there were no terrorists.
When I strolled through the streets of the second most beautiful capital in the world, Islamabad - there were no terrorists
When I close my eyes and get lost in dreams of Urdu, dahl from Mian Ji and smiling kindness of Pakistan - there are no terrorists.
When I wake up and see the images of broken glass, burning buildings, weeping crowds and howling sirens- I know that they were there. The faceless evil of an enemy who time after time will try to destabilize Pakistan and destroy its people and its peace.
But no power on earth can undo Pakistan.
No power on earth can take away hope and love.
And dreams.
