good evening my fellow steemers.

today im going to tell you all why you should go to amsterdam (the netherlands).

reason number one!

most people who come to amsterdam are coming for the weed.
not only because we got many different sorts of weed .
not only for having the best weed of the world.
but for having the best drug policy of the world.
dutch drug policy is directed by an idea that every human being may decide about the matters of its own health.
the dutch consider this rule as fundemental.
another idea which guides dutch lawsin their drug policy is a conviction that hiding social negative phenomena
does not make them to disappear , on the contrary makes them worse , because when concealed, they become far more difficult to influence and control.
its a private matter of each individual, and not a matter for the enforcement apparatus.
production, trading and stocking drugs remain a criminal offence.
there are some rules about weed.
you must be 18 +.
you need to have an i.d to buy it.
you can buy a maximum of 5 grams.
smoking is only allowed in coffeeshops.
thats it!

reason number 2.

the red light district.

it is very likely that you have heard about this neighbourhood.
everything you have heard is probably true.
brothels to sexshops to museums.

amsterdam prides itself , and righly so, on its wholly liberal and tolerant attitude, embracing the fact that people may
be into prostitution, soft drugs and pornography. and that it is only human.
so instead of criminalizing everything, they enjoy the honesty of it all.

nowadays prostitution is legal in the netherlands but not on the streets.
thats why prostitutes stand up behind a window and have their own room.
the name red light districts comes from the red neon lights that highlight the
350 windows where women are working.

you can also find coffeeshops, sex shops, peepshows, stripclubs, sex theaters and typical
dutch brown cafes. the museum of prostitution, the museum of erotism and the museum of cannabis are
also located in the red lights district.

reason number 3.

for the people who dont like the sex and drugs , we got our dutch masters.

Rijksmuseum

The Rijksmuseum holds Amsterdam’s most impressive art collection by far. The museum owns over a million works of art, most of which are by Dutch 17th century masters, providing an overview of Dutch art and Dutch history of the period.

Van Gogh Museum

Holding the world’s largest collection of works by Van Gogh, the Van Gogh Museum is a testimony to the achievements of Vincent van Gogh and his artistic development. In addition to creations by Van Gogh, the museum holds an impressive collection of works by the painter’s contemporaries, friends, followers, and artistic predecessors, including many Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists.

Stedelijk Museum

The Stedelijk Museum holds the largest collection of modern and contemporary art in the Netherlands, comprising around 90,000 works of art from various disciplines. Highlights include Bauhaus, Mondriaan, and De Kooning. In addition the Stedelijk holds an impressive collection of drawings and paintings by Kazimir Malevich, as well as post-impressionist work by Paul Cezanne, and a number of works by Vincent van Gogh.

Museum het Rembrandthuis

Museum het Rembrandtshuis, located in the house where Rembrandt lived between 1639 and 1658, holds a collection of etchings, drawings, and copperplates by the master himself. Many of these creations were produced in this house which is portrayed as it was at the time Rembrandt lived there.

In addition, the collection includes a number of paintings by Rembrandt’s teacher, his pupils, and several contemporaries, copies after Rembrandt and reproduction prints after his drawings and paintings. The museum currently strives to obtain a collection of graphic work by Rembrandt’s predecessors and his followers, as well as work by German and Austrian contemporaries. Important recent acquisitions include work by Jan Lievens and Johannes van Vliet, as well as work by Christian Wilhelm Dietrich, Georg Friedrich Schmidt.

Amsterdam museums are among the main tourist attractions. The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House and the Stedelijk Museum are the most popular choices, but there are many interesting small museums. There are seventy five Amsterdam museums, which attract almost seven million visitors every year. Alongside the wealth of majestic Golden Age paintings, you'll find exciting modern art, press, film, theatre and photography museums and some unique Dutch treats like the Heineken, Ajax Arena Tours and the Houseboat museum. And Amsterdam wouldn't be Amsterdam without the likes of the Sex, Erotic, Hash or Torture museums.
For kids there is an impressive NEMO; a hands-on science and technology museum housed in the unique, boat-shaped building. Nearby Het Scheepvaartmuseum – The National Maritime Museum is also worth a visit with its replica of a Dutch trading ship, docked behind. Museums such as the Tropical Museum and Jewish Museum also include children's section. The Amsterdam Holland Pass and the Museum card is the ideal solution for museums and arts addicted, for tourists wishing to stay in Amsterdam longer and visiting museums elsewhere in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam art museums scene is completed by numerous Amsterdam art galleries. FOAM is also a popular destination especialy for young art appreciators.

so the main attractions of amsterdam are these 3 written above.
the world famous drug policy
the world famous red light district
and a lot of great painters in a lot of museums.
