Finland: My Kinda Let's Rock the Church in Helsinki
Strolling in the town was simply relaxing
beautiful weather, gorgeous Finnish, simple Finland.
No hurry no hustle no hasten.
A walking distance of 2 to 3 km from Senate Square
and here we were at Temppeliaukio Church a.k.a Rock Church -
One iconic architectural church in Helsinki.
Or I must say it's also one of the unique churches I ever visited in Europe.
It's not as gigantic as St. Peter’s Basilica in Italy
The Lutheran church is built directly out of solid rock,
The interior is simple stunning
which was excavated to creatively form a natural echo space.
Craggy stones are exposed directly
to make it not only serves a church,
but also serves as a concert hall.
From the outside,
it looks like a normal garden and
you might not even know that you were stepping onto a church.
However, when you enter the underground church
your head would genuinely looks up everywhere.
The copper-made dome which forms the roof
instantly transforms the whole church a royal house.
Am I exaggerated? You'll come and see =)
Again,
No hurry no hustle no hasten.
We enjoyed our time here
and listened to the electronic church bell for hour.
