Aussie’s in the USA - Part 6 - New York City - Central Park, World Trade Center and Times Square
Central Park, New York City
We started the day by visiting the green part of this huge city, Central Park. The park has a zoo, ice skating rink and we even met Santa sitting amongst the falling leaves.
Downtown, New York
After wandering around the park for a while, we decided to hop on the subway and venture downtown to see the site of the World Trade Center attacks. It was mesmerising to see the site where so many lost their lives. The police presence there is still very strong.
Downtown is also home of the New York Stock Exchange, yeah, that place where things called stocks are traded! It is the largest in the world .
The Brookly Bridge is another landmark in the Downtown area.
Times Square and Broadway
Times Square is home to one of the busiest pedestriation intersections in the world. At night, you can see the lights of Times Square for miles and the New Years Eve Ball sits atop one of the buildings, ready to be raised and lowered for the upcoming 2018 new year.
Broadway also intersects Times Square and we went and watched Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s rendition of ‘School of Rock’. It was a fantastic production and I would recommend it to anyone who visits.
Thanks for reading the next instalment in our trip around the USA.

Whats public transport like getting around the round the place? Cheap easy and quick?
Yeah subway is easy with 140+ stops. About $2 a one way trip. Not too bad.
man, that sounds like fun. I only just got back from a holiday and now I feel like another.
Have been Central Park. What a nice place to hang out and take a nap.
School of Rock must have been a real treat.
So much to see and do. You're going to need a holiday when you get back...
I love New York so much. Although I like it much better in summer.
