Very Beary Trip to Alberta

Last Year we travelled a lot!

So much in fact that when we finally got home I told my wife that we would NOT be going anywhere again for at least a couple of years.

It started in May when I went on a spring Black Bear hunt in Alberta. They have some really big bears up there and tagging out means you took TWO bears.

Here's the route I took:

I could have flown, but flying with meat and trophies was a hassle I didn't want to deal with. It was a looooong drive. Fortunately my 2004 Honda CRV with AWD performed marvelously:

Yup, brought a trailer with a chest freezer along, lol. Plan for success!

Canada is pretty awesome, lots of space, great cell service... could use a few more gas stations though.

Sitting in my "bear proof" blind. Pretty big windows though, there were a few times I thought I might get company.

Here's my Browning A-Bolt in .375 H&H Magnum. The stock is aftermarket, it was engraved by my uncle. He's in his 80s... really love his work.

That's my post for today. Turns out yesterday's post was out of order. Hawaii was in July... we'll get there again. I plan to post our travels last year starting from the beginning (here).
