A few days in the Philippines before heading to Kuala Lumpur AND Artisanal Silver + Philippines Silver Coinage
Last summer after doing Hong Kong Disney the TWELVE of us journeyed back to the Philippines. We had a long layover in Manila but with 6 adults and 6 kids we kept eachother pretty well entertained. By the time we arrived in Cebu we were pretty beat. We checked into our AirBNB and got settled.
The house was big... you could tell it was quite luxurious when it was new but had fallen into disrepair. There was a pool with a fountain, but it was filthy and smelled bad, so no swimming. Instead we entertained the kids by taking them to the mall.
SM Seaside City Cebu
Cebu is my wife's hometown and I lived here for almost three years myself. So we didn't do all the touristy stuff. In fact we were married here:
And our oldest was born here:
one of the best pictures I've ever taken IMO
Over the years we've had lots of adventures in the Philippines.
I found these coral bits and shells on a beach in Moal Boal. The "o" was the hardest letter to find.
But this time we were basically just dropping the kids off. We planned to do some more traveling in Asia with just the grown ups, me and my wife, her brother and his wife.
But before we left the kiddos with their maternal grandparents we had some more fun at that big ole mall:
arcade with lots of kiddie rides
This place (also in the mall) is more of a kid jail. You can leave them here while you catch a movie or lunch.
Did you check out Star Lord?
You know... @Mr-Vulcan made me his gun, the Element Gun in poured silver. Check it out:

Moving on... in addition to hanging out with family and friends and keeping the kids entertained, no trip home is complete without some HOME COOKIN!
Lechon Kawali
Humba
Puso (hanging rice)
"What about elevenses? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner?"
So essentially, we got the kids tired, fed them till they passed out, then snuck out to head to Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur to be precise. Come back next time to see some KL pics.
More silver? Oh yeah, more silver!
The Philippines 1947 One Peso & Fifty Centavos Silver Coins
Well this post is too long already! Maybe should have been THREE posts, hehe. Be sure to hook a brutha up with an UpVote, ReSteem, and Comment. Peace!
@SbsParts
Those MacArthur coins have so far eluded my fingers !!! For sure on my list !!!!
I bought one... don't remember which. Then I found the set. So... I guess have three of them :P
I showed 'em to my mom, that date 10/20/44, not sure what the historical significance of it is, but it's her birthday, so that's pretty cool 👍🏼
That is the day General MacArthur invaded the Philipines to retake it from the Japenese. He said something along the lines of 'people of the Philipines, I have returned.'
After the vacations, and the food, and the gun! I think you are Star Lord brother
Great pictures and silver!
Thanks dude.
This is a kid's paradise! I wish I was a little younger to play with them...I am having a wonderful time on this trip.
Those crazy kids make fun wherever they go. Imagination and energy is all they need ;-)
