Travel Blog # 3: Nuapa Peak of Balirong Naga

Today is a great day Steemians!
Come with us and discover another fun adventure at Naga Cebu!!

It has been a hectic schedule for us teachers of Mactan National High School for the series of activities we have to be part of. Despite being busy we did not miss the chance to unveil the beauty of Naupa Peak.

As planned we are to meet at Park Mall at exactly 5 am.. But for Filipinos there is such thing as Filipino Time,haha. So @jenesa and @felicitas had to wait for me and @georgie84. I had to drop by @georgie84's house. So at 7 am we finally are complete. Don't get me wrong we actually didn't have enough sleep because of our teachers night the night before. :)

Had to eat breakfast first coz breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And where else do we eat breakfast, off to the happiest bee Jollibee. We have to be full packed for the adventure ahead. Bought some snacks, water and energy drink so we don't have to do other pit stops.

_{Decided to sit at the back part of the bus,it was really bumpy though. No pictures for I was asleep the whole ride.}

At Park Mall you can ride 01k going to the South Bus for 7 pesos. Ride a bus going to Naga, Cebu to Naga is 30 pesos. We rode a multicab going to Eskina Balirong for 13 pesos.

At our arrival there are habal2x driver that asked us where we wanted to go. We mentioned Balirong Peak but the driver insisted that Naupa Peak is better for it is more visited by foreign.

As negotiated 200 pesos is good for back and forth to the peak. The driver were our guide as well since one of the driver knows the place.

_{We had to ride separate motorcycle coz the way to the peak is quite rough.}

_{The way to the peak is like having an electronic bull ride,haha.}

Nature at it's best, a long bumpy ride it was but still worth it. I am so ready to reach the top. For beginners like us who does not have experience in trekking better take the habal2x for it's quite a long walk. But if you prefer to experience the walk it's advisable for the way to the peak is just fascinating.

In trekking best is not to bring a lot for it's gonna be a hassle going up when you have too many things to bring.

We had to stop our chitchat since it started to rain. So we had to go and the challenge begins.

Sit back, relax and watch a series of unfortunate events..haha

The habal2x driver is having a hard time to go down on a steep road. It's all muddy and wet, my habal2x driver slipped and I felt so bad seeing him having a difficulty going down, so I helped him since I have muscles built for heavy lifting..lol

Realizations
You actually have to get muddy for you to know how it feels to fall,but what is important is you RISE UP and smile.

Residents are used to this kind of passage,they can actually manage going up and down even if it rains.

One thing I like about traveling specially in our own Hometown is that everywhere you go you see people smile and greet you. They are not the richest people you'll ever meet but they have the most Wealthy Heart.

It was time for us to head back to the city, for less than 500 pesos you can already enjoy your weekend and let go of the grudges you have from work. Why go far when you have the best place here in Cebu? So what are you waiting for? Discover Cebu, discover Philippines.

Things I Prepared for this adventure:

• Small Backpack
• Extra T-shirt and shorts in case we decide to take a swim in some river we might pass by.
• Hoody Jacket the thin one just prepared it if ever it's gonna be too hot or if it's too cold if it rains.
• Sunglasses
• Liptint You don't wanna look pale on your pictures do yah..haha
• Just bought water,energy drink,chocolates on our way.

Remember:

• Always leave no trace. Bring back whatever you brought on your way.
• Bring only the necessity. Like water,food,money and something to protect you from the sun.

Estimated budget:

• Parkmall-South bus terminal- 7 Pesos
• Terminal-Naga - 30 Pesos
• Naga-Eskina Balirong - 13 Pesos
• Balirong-Naupa Peak - 100 Pesos
• Total of 150 pesos and just multiply it by two for back and forth trip.
