The Angel Of the North is literally just off the A1 as you come into Newcastle. The statue was built in February 1998 and is believed to be the largest angel sculpture in the entire world.

It has a 54 metre wingspan and cost a whopping £800,000 to make.

Apparently it will last for up to a hundred years. I should think so for £800,000.

Anyway the weirdo in the picture imitating the angel is me by the way!
