Best castle ruins I've seen so far

Tintagel Castle, Cornwall, UK

Richard, Earl of Cornwall, built the castle in about 1230 at a location that already had strong connection to the legend of King Arthur and the love story of Tristan and Iseult. By building a castle on this dramatic headland, Richard was making a statement about his position of power in Cornwall.
