Classic Bike Breakfast Run
Classic Bike Breakfast Run

Today being workers-day, which is a public holiday in South Africa, we decided to do a small breakfast run with the classic BMW bikes.

We met at a coffee shop named Padlangs, which was unfortunately still closed at 08h00 in the morning - thus no coffee for us. Like the saying goes, the early restaurant catches the biker. They had an old cannon and horse drawn carriage as decoration outside. They also had this "Zuma must Fall" sign outside, (For the people who don't know, he is our (South African) president) and they don't mean he must fall with a motorbike!! We hoped that this was not a bad omen and that none of us were going to fall with our bikes!!

A bit closer photo of the old canon.

We decided to ride to Cullinan, which is a small mining town outside of Pretoria. The town's claim to fame is that the world's largest rough diamond was found there in 1905. Read more about it on this link
On the photo below, whe have reached our destination.

Below are the 4 of us sitting, waiting for our breakfast.

Luckily for us they had this very good beer special going, thus we opted for coffee with our breakfast!!

When the coffee arrived, they had a small glass of "Old Brown Cherry" accompanying the coffee, to warm us up. I was so impressed with this, I forgot to take a photo of the English breakfast we all opted for.

The photo below shows more of the setting!!

They also had these decorations, straight from "Raiders of the lost Ark", a relic of the past mining activities.

The photo below shows the street in which the restaurant is situated.

We had a safe and enjoyable ride, until we meet again. We are planning a Craft Beer Pub Crawl Ride for next time, looks like double trouble to me.
The photos were taken by me with my iPhone.
Hope you enjoyed it

Here in Mexico is also labor day and almost everything closes.

Thank you very much!
I like that Buy one beer for the price of two sign!
Yes, perhaps you will fall for that special if you already had a few beers when you arrive.
It makes a person think for a moment. Perhaps longer if their thoughts are muddled by alcohol.
