Japan. Part5.

in #travel8 years ago

Our first full day in Sapporo started with a late Wake-up from which the return to the homeland, we have been unable to get rid of. A couple of sandwiches, a bun and macaroni with meat from a nearby Seicomart calmed my nerves and could go on a tour. According to the plan we were going to start the day with a visit to Sapporo TV Tower (TV tower in Central Sapporo from the observation deck) and Odori (along with passing it mysterious autumn festival).

Day Japan is visually very different from the Japanese night. In daylight, the manifest building and herbs that are so much shaded lights advertising in the dark.

I have the feeling that even the pigeons are more responsible in maintaining cleanliness of the Japanese streets, breaking all the laws of your own digestive system )))
I think that in the event of an attack on Japan, giant monsters, the locals start to panic immediately, taking the monsters for another commercial installation.

On the streets of Sapporo, in contrast to Tokyo are not so common Caucasoid person. And they sometimes just don't live:

Unhurried pace, looking around, we dobreli to the first destination. TV tower of Sapporo, of course, either the outside or the inside view does not compare with Tokyo, where I visited in 2010-m to year, and the opening in the Japanese capital of the new tower sky tree, so in General it seems a toy, but nonetheless, do not visit it we could not. It seems to be as expected, so it is necessary.

The clock on the tower was installed in the year when Yuri Gagarin flew into space. And the tower itself was built in 1957 already.

Right around the tower you can practice cooking on an open fire.

Odori Park, which is a tower located in Central Sapporo, about halfway between Sapporo station and Susukino (the main intersection in Sapporo, which I have already started writing in the previous Chapter)

Red Tokyo tower in two with superfluous time above that, but the capital of Hokkaido, and smaller still than the giant Tokyo. So in the scale of the city TV tower Sapporo seems to be quite a significant part of the urban landscape. Moreover, it was designed by the same people, and Tokyo.
The observation deck is located at a height of 90 meters and it offers great views of Odori Park promenade which is the next stage of our tour.

The Sapporo TV tower there is a website on the Internet, which for those who don't know English is remarkable, first of all, what is there to see via a web Cam live life Sapporo from the height of the observation deck of TV Tower.
Site address:
http://www.tv-tower.co.jp/
By the way, one of the following lyric (or not) deviations I intend to dedicate to the question of how can online to observe the life of the capital of Hokkaido with the help of Internet resources.
And via the above mentioned web camera, the view is something like this:

And now one of the major disappointments that I felt described me after the trip. On returning from Japan, looking below are the photos I realized quite disastrous fact! I have not bought neither of these magnets:

And as You know, this was clearly a mistake, because there is nothing more powerful as a souvenir or as a gift — it is simply impossible!!! )))
The Japanese, as I imagine, just talked: "What is famous in Hokkaido? Corn, crabs, football and baseball teams (judging by the picture, the basketball, probably), and, most importantly, fierce bears (who are called "Kuma")! So why not knead it all in the blender of our inflamed imagination and not make up a bunch of Souvenirs?!" and away we go...
I think the presence of such a magnet on the fridge will keep the food safe and sound, scaring off the voracious guests. But there are also disadvantages. I think that the character with this gift can start to come to You in nightmares:

It's funny that in the same month when we were in Sapporo, Japan national tourism organization (JNTO) conducted a survey according to which the TV Tower in Sapporo, was included in the list of the five most disappointing sights of Japan! )))
I think that the truth in the results of this survey are. On the other hand, to spend a week in Sapporo and not spend an hour in the contemplation of this great city is also somehow not right.
The observation deck on the tower is fully glazed, so you can't feel the adrenaline of danger, like the Eiffel tower in Paris (he was not, but I can guess). But then engineers can understand. With a passion for Japanese suicides to a reliable and beautiful suicide — it would be too tempting a place for a last visit. And all this at a time when the marketers of this building fighting for re-sale )))
Famous Japanese cross-shaped intersections are always attracted to Russian eyes, not accustomed to such delights:

But in the meantime, Sapporo TV Tower has exhausted its limit of our interest and we decided to move at the Odori Park on.
But a little entangled with the floors while descending the tower we were in some kind of endless (by term horizon) shopping center:

We soon found out that these are two huge shopping street, which are under the earth (Pole Town and Aurora Town). One, for example, you can cross the whole Central part of Sapporo and is accessible from Sapporo to Susukino stays. That is, in rainy or cold weather in the capital of Hokkaido is completely wonderful to walk under the ground than we did in one of the following days specifically allocated for shopping.
During these walks often can come across such are fine seniors:

On Odori is a pavilion for tourists, where you can take a bunch of different maps and guides that can come in handy while traveling.

On the Odori, sold the famous local cheese (and a little singed by the recipe) sweet corn. I did not like, but that's only because I'm a fan of salt. And this dish is very popular.

Local driver ready to introduce You the area while you chew your ear:

And then we got! Came to the Autumn festival in Sapporo. I read about it when I was preparing for the journey, but did not understand what it is. And then all at once became clear.
Autumn festival in Sapporo is a feast! In the truest sense of the word. But everything in order.

To make it clear what I'm talking about, first I will tell about the topography of Odori park. Odori is a walkway consisting of more than a dozen rectangular sections (half the size of a football field), which are formed due to multiple intersections of the alley perpendicular to the street. These sections are filled with greenery and plenty of benches. And the Central part are used differently. Autumn festival summer fountains and winter it is on Odori is the famous snow festival. Well, maybe, God knows what else is going on at Odori what I know.
Starts Park (if the Japanese look at the map from right to left) with Sapporo TV Tower and ends in Sapporo Archives Museum:

Now! Autumn festival in Sapporo is a feast for the stomach! Because several sections of Odori Park are filled with hundreds of mobile kiosks, which are prepared and sold thousands of food and varieties of drinks.
Besides the stalls, the square is equipped with tables, chairs and other attributes, which make the process of absorption of food for guests. Struck by the fact that many were drinking beer from glass mugs and wine out of real glasses. It seems that neither visitors, nor even to owners of dishes comes to mind that it is possible to steal ))) Japan, after all.
In addition, each of the sections of the festival equipped with a point of delivery of used dishes. No one would think to leave her anywhere. Everyone will come and it will pass the specially trained people.
People at the festival are myriad, despite the fact that most of Japan has not ended the working day. So people just sit wherever possible.
The choice of dishes is just mind-boggling. And for the Russian look even and extremely exotic. We photographed only a small part of that sea of delights, which are presented in an endless variety of mobile restaurants. More didn't decide to photograph — I was afraid to fill the camera with saliva.

In each country, their interpretation of the morality tale about three pigs )))

We also decided to try something in order to save memories about the autumn festival in Sapporo. And let the food digest and out, but the memories will remain for years to come )))

What we ate we didn't understand, and haven't been able to decide for yourself it is tasty or not. But, consequently, it was of absolutely secondary importance.

Meanwhile, the tour of the autumn holiday in Sapporo came to an end. About an hour we pushed our way through crowded rows of stalls and got to the final part of Odori Park.

As in any major city in Japan, Bicycle Parking lot striking for its size! But this is what I will write in a subsequent Chapter separately.

No book, no film or photograph, not a single eyewitness (and I among them) are unable to compete with a personal visit to the country of the rising sun.
Japan is so interesting that undoubtedly requires a comprehensive study.

And Odori Park, and the next Chapter of my notes, meanwhile, ended.
But our first full day in Sapporo is still far from its finale, and we still have "today" to visit several attractions, the famous street of Tanuki-koji, sushi cafe and restaurant shabu-shabu.
Test our feet and digestive systems continue...
