My journey to Cambodia part3: Reaching Cambodia at last.
After taking the airplane from Amsterdam, was our first stop in Frankfurt.
From there we took an airplane to AbuDabi, what is the capital city of United Arab Emirate.
We had to wait for 6 hours on the airport, and took the moment to look around in the shops.
Then when the time was ready, we took the airplane to Bangkok Thailand, and again we had to wait for the next airplane.
And took the chance to take a look at the new airport of Bangkok.
It's change a lot since the last time i was here.
And it was nice to look around, but i was tired and wanted to reach Cambodia.
So i was happy to get in the next airplane to Phnom Pen Cambodia.
I was nervous and felt many emotions because it was the first time after 18 years to be back in Cambodia.
But i also felt sad because I'm here to buried my mother, and i need to visit my father's grave, who died in 2013 .
Then on the moment we reached Cambodia, was my cell phone battery dead.
And i could not make pictures of my entering Cambodia and meeting my family after so many years.
But we were on time for the ceremonies for my mother.
And it was a very emotional ceremony, where i saw family and friends of my mother, who was there out of respect.
There i saw how my mother was a respected person in the community, who did many things for the villages and farmers.
She was a respected elder, who supported the community in many ways.
And the community showed that with the respect they showed for my mother.
I saw that good by there actions and words.
That was a moment i will never forget in my life.
And now are all the ceremonies over, and will be one more ceremony left and that is after 100 days and will be done in the Netherlands.
So now that I'm back in Cambodia and i buried my mother, will my focus be on my family and what my mother did in Cambodia. To continue my parents work, who wanted to rebuild Cambodia after they fled from the Khmer civil war.
That will by my contribution for my parents and Cambodia, who fleeted the country for our kids.
To give us a life in freedom, now that i have that life, will i do all in my power to support my family and fellow Cambodians who did not had that chance.
So in the next following week, will i visit more places and meet more family members, to get a better picture of the reality in Cambodia. I thank you all for reading and hope to see you all in my next post, were i will visit a tempel in Thmor Koul.
Chum reap Leah--> good bye!
