Travel Gem #31: Catch the Stunning Gorgeous Desert Sunset / 华丽沙漠的日落

Dear Steemian Friends,

Are you like me who loves to watch sunsets?

Sunset is a special time that makes people 'stop' doing whatever they are doing, to stand still watching the drama in front of them.

It feels as if 'time' has stopped at that moment. This is always my experience.

I always remember an unforgettable sunset experience we had when we were walking through the Greek Patmos Island years ago. When we got to the top of the hill by the road, the sun was just 'starting to set'. Suddenly one by one, people gathered on top of the hill gazing at the sun going down. Joggers stopped. Motorcycles stopped. Cars stopped and people came out to watch the sun going down the horizon.

Everyone is actively engaged staring at the breathtaking setting of the sun.

You stop whatever that you are doing and just appreciate the moments God wants to show you in the sky.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.”

There is truly an inspirational power that draws us with the sun setting. All of a sudden, all your stress and depression go away. And all your problems seem to fade away. You begin to count your blessings and become grateful for all the gifts that our God Creator gives to us.

The best thing is that sunset is free. It is there everyday for us to experience. Grab your chance to watch the sunset today, tomorrow, and the day after. You will be changed.

Taking time to draw close to God's creation will help you see things in wider perspective.

The colors that the sun creates in the desert is amazing. The sand changes colors. Even minutes after the sun goes down, the after effects persist long after the color has faded.

The sun sets every single day. You never get bored watching it.

Explore the Golden Desert of Dubai

When you come to Dubai, come to the desert to watch the sunset. There is something incredibly calming and beautiful watching the sun set over the desert. Our driver drove us to the top of the Sand dunes to watch the sunset.

He is the one in the middle in the white robe. Do you notice that he is the only one who is barefoot?

I noticed that he took off his sandals right away as soon as he got off his car.

We all had our shoes on as we climbed up the slope.

Did you know that it is very difficult to walk on deep sand? Very soon, one by one, we all took off our shoes and went barefoot.

Look at how deep the foot prints sink into the sand.

Even though we were surrounded by many other people from other jeeps, we felt we were by ourselves until the sun disappeared behind the sand dunes in the distance.

THE DESERT GETS REALLY COLD AT NIGHT

Remember to bring along a light jacket if you end up staying out in the desert at night. Soon after the sun sets, the air turns cool. The heat of the sand lasts as long as the sun is up. After the sun goes down, it becomes chilling.
