Travel Gem #24: How do Dubai men keep their white clothing so clean? 迪拜男士如何保持衣服如此白色

Hello Steemians,

We are now in Dubai.  I have so many things to share with you but need to have the energy after each day's travel to write down all my exciting adventures.

I find the Dubai people so friendly.  

Everywhere we go, they greet us and welcome us.

The men are dressed in white while the ladies are dressed in black, sometmes all covered with only the 2 eyes seen.

Yesterday, while we were walking in one of the big Dubai Mall, I was greeted by these men who were having coffee together chatting away.  They invited us to join them and so we did.

Today, I will share one part of our conversation with you.

I asked them:  "How do you keep your long white robes so clean?"

One of them said:  "These are called 'kanduras'.  Originally the kandura was not white.  We used to dip the material into coffee so that it camouflages in the desert."

The 2nd man jokingly said:  "We  don't live in the deserts anymore, so these days, we have washing machines at home to keep them white and clean."

I said:  "Look at all your kanduras.  They look so white and new."

Finally the last man said to me and got us all laughing:  "We each have 4 wives to do our laundry for us."

Ha ha . . .  Yup, that's the SECRET!

They tell us lots of interesting stories that I will share more with you when I get home. 

I shared with them about Steemit.  They never heard about it and are excited to join the platform, so in due time you will see these Dubai men joining us.
