Lastovo island trekking race

This weekend was intended for enjoyment on the island of Lastovo. The island of Lastovo belongs to Dubrovačka county but is directly connected by ferry to Split. The ride lasts 5h in one direction. 3h to the island of Korcula, where we transfer to another ferry and then another 2h to the island of Lastovo, Ubli.

There was a trekking and trail race most of all why we decided to visit this island, but as my injury did not heal, I went to support my friends.

The town of Lastovo is situated in the middle of the island and is not next to the sea, which I would say is a rarity. The beach has 10-15 minutes walk or downhill.

The race had two categories: 10 and 21 km. Start was in front of the church at 17:00. When the bell rang 5 times the race started.

The race conducted participants on the most beautiful parts of the island of Lastovo including the Hidden Gate and the Lighthouse.

In the long run, the first arrived at 1:53h, while the last one came late at night around 22:00h.

There was served food and drinks and after that the Klapa Fumari from Lastovo sang several songs and KUD Lastovo played the famous dances.

Then the best runners were awarded medals and gifts from the tourist community of Lastovo. Of course, I have to be honored to have four medals in my club. As every victory has to be celebrated, we have celebrated these victories till the tiny hours, and then in the nearby camp everyone lays in their "bed" ie tent.
