Visit the Azores #16: Mystic lake, majestic chapel and cold sea! (EN/GER/FR)

After relaxing yesterday in the beautiful Terra Nostra Garden, it's time to get active again!
Therefore, the alarm clock rings a little earlier than usual, and after a small breakfast, we get in our car #4 and start our road trip.
First stop: Lagoa do Congro. A short walk from the forest parking lot leads us to the lake, which radiates a magical tranquillity.

After having made some nice shots, we continue to Vila Franca do Campo. More specifically, we drive to Nossa Senhora da Paz, a beautiful chapel with a great view.

From there you can easily see the beautiful Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo, a small island just off the coast of the small town. In summer, you can go there by boat and swim in the water basin of the island.

We get back in the car and continue our ride. Before we go to the starting point of the hike to the Lagoa do Fogo, we stop near Caloura at a small beach.
The weather today is perfect, so why not jump into the bathing suits and go for a swim in the sea?

Said and done. Although the beach is certainly not a typical beach, we find a nice place in the sand and go into the water.

Well, actually, one could describe this "bathing" rather like this: We carefully stretch a foot into the sea - cold! - We force ourselves to go into water until it reaches our hips - Even colder! Oh my God, I want to get out again! - and run back to the towels. In October, it may be a bit fresh for a trip to the sea!

And finally, a little taste of the next post: Bright sunshine, pleasant temperatures, perfect conditions for our planned hike to Lagoa do Fogo? Not at all!

Mystischer See, majestätische Kapelle und kaltes Meer!

Nachdem wir gestern im wunderschönen Terra Nostra Garden relaxt haben, heißt es heute wieder: aktiv werden!
Daher klingelt der Wecker etwas früher als sonst, wir steigen nach einem kurzen Frühstück in den Hopser #4 und starten unsren Roadtrip.
Erster Stopp: Lagoa do Congro. Ein kurzer Spaziergang vom Waldparkplatz aus führt uns zum See, der eine magische Ruhe ausstrahlt.

Nach einigen Schnappschüssen geht es weiter nach Vila Franca do Campo. Genauer gesagt fahren wir dort zur Nossa Senhora da Paz, einer wunderschönen Kapelle mit tollem Ausblick.

Von dort aus kann man sehr gut die schöne Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo erkennen, einer kleinen Insel direkt vor der Küste der kleinen Stadt. Im Sommer kann man mit einem Boot dorthin fahren und in dem Wasserbecken der Insel baden.

Wir steigen zurück ins Auto und düsen wieder weiter. Bevor wir am Startpunkt der Wanderung zum Lagoa do Fogo fahren, machen wir in der Nähe von Caloura an einem kleinen Strand halt.
Das Wetter heute ist perfekt, wieso also nicht schnell in die Badeklamotten springen und im Meer eine kleine Runde schwimmen gehen?

Gesagt – getan. Obwohl der Strand mit Sicherheit kein typischer Badestrand ist, suchen wir uns ein kleines Plätzchen und gehen ins Wasser.

Naja, eigentlich könnte man dieses „baden“ eher so beschreiben: Wir strecken vorsichtig einen Fuß ins Meer - kalt! - wir zwingen uns, bis zur Hüfte ins Wasser zu gehen - noch kälter! Hilfe, ich will wieder raus! - und rennen verfroren zurück zu den Handtüchern. Im Oktober ist es für einen Gang ins Meer vielleicht doch ein bisschen frisch!

Und zum Schluss noch einen kleinen Vorgeschmack auf den nächsten Post: Strahlender Sonnenschein, angenehme Temperaturen, perfekte Bedingungen für unsere geplante Wanderung zum Lagoa do Fogo? Von wegen!

Lac mystique, chapelle majestueuse et mer froide!

Après avoir relaxé hier dans le magnifique Terra Nostra Garden, Il est temps de reprendre des activités!
Par conséquent, le réveil sonne un peu plus tôt que d’habitude, et après un petit déjeuner copieux, nous, montons dans la voiture et commençons notre road trip.
Premier arrêt: Lagoa do Congro. Une courte promenade du parking forestier nous mène au lac, qui dégage une tranquillité magique.

Après avoir fait quelques belles photos, nous continuons en direction de Vila Franca do Campo. Plus précisément, nous conduisons à Nossa Senhora da Paz, une belle chapelle avec une vue magnifique.

De là, vous pouvez facilement voir la belle Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo, une petite île située pas loin de la côte de la petite ville. En été, vous pouvez y aller en bateau et nager dans le bassin d'eau de l'île.

Nous remontons dans la voiture et continuons notre promenade. Avant de nous rendre au point de départ de la randonnée vers Lagoa do Fogo, nous nous arrêterons près de Caloura sur une petite plage.
La météo d’aujourd’hui est idéale, alors pourquoi ne pas sauter dans le maillot de bain et aller se baigner dans la mer?

Dit et fait. Bien que la plage ne soit certainement pas une plage typique, nous trouvons un endroit agréable dans le sable et allons dans l'eau.

Eh bien, en fait, on pourrait décrire cette "baignade" un peu comme ceci: Nous mettons un pied dans la mer avec précaution- froid! - Nous nous forçons à aller dans l’eau jusqu’aux hanches - plus froid encore! Oh mon Dieu, je veux sortir de là! - et retour vers les serviettes. En octobre, il fiat peut-être un peu trop froid aux Açores pour une baignade en mer!

Et enfin, un petit avant-goût du prochain post: temps magnifique, températures agréables, conditions idéales pour notre randonnée prévue à Lagoa do Fogo? Pas du tout!
