Explore with me #7: Majorca

this year my husband and i went to majorca for a whole week. we rented a car and a romantic old finca on the countryside. we tried to explore as much as we could.

we stayed at the rural son jorda hotel which is ideally situated in the small village at the heart of majorca. the 15th century country house has been totally restored. we enjoyed our beautiful room and the stunning ambience.

 

on the first day we already got sunburned. we tried to be careful, but falling asleep on the beach isn't a good idea :) how could you not totally relax and fall asleep by this beautiful nature?

the water was so clear and refreshing...

of course we took a trip to the capital city as well, palma de majorca. it was one of the hottest days of the year. we ran from shadow to shadow because of our previous sunburn *ouch*

one of our highlight was a small town called fornalutx. it is often referred to as the prettiest village in spain. the stone buildings and red tiled roofs combined with the scent of the surrounding orange and lemon groves provide a traditional rustic charm. after taking a stroll through the town we sat down and enjoyed a freshly squeezed orange juice.

when you're in majorca don't forget to go to the coves del drac (dragon cave). the caves are open to the public and one of the main attractions on majorca. the visit ends with a short classical concert performed by four musicians on a boat. i really recommend taking a tour through the caves.

one last thing i want to mention is the cap de formentor. it is a spectacular place, located on the northernmost point of the balaeric island majorca. the road to the cap is stunning was well.
