COLLECTIBLE CAR CONVENTION | In Caracas, Venezuela | Travel Post #02

in #travel6 years ago

Today I bring this incredible post to talk about a convention that I went this week in Caracas, Venezuela. I took photos of the cars while I was going through this convention of antique and modern cars.

I took about 15 photos during the trip and two of them are engines that are in the cars.

I am going to talk about the cars and a little bit of their creation.

CAMARO RS (1969)

This is a rally-sport Camaro, it’s more of a sports car, this car includes:

  • Hidden lighthouse
  • Modified taillights
  • Chrome trim low side

This car model is about: $30,000 and $50,000 (all the prices that I will put are from my research in several pages).

CARAMO SS (1969)

This it’s a variant of the Camaro RS and both are from the same year. This car included:

  • Special side stripes and SS badges on the front fender grille.
  • Gas cap
  • Horn button
Both of these cars set the pace for the Indianapolis 500 race.

This car model is about: $30,000 and $46,000.

CHEVROLET STEPSIDE from 1960 or (APACHE)

This car was one of the first made by Chevrolet that was assembled in Argentina with national pieces.

It was an aggressive type of car because of the accessories that were included and this car has a “trunk” of wood and the original Apache had a normal trunk made of metal but with some folding ladders.

It’s about: $56,000 and $68,000, (hard to find the price, if it’s correct).

CHRYSLER WINDSOR (1950)

This car is a modern variant of the Chrysler Royal from 1930. This car model was made for the Chrysler’s 25th anniversary and the Windsor model were redesigned again.

It’s about: $15,000 and $30,000.

DODGE CHARGER LX (2007)

This car was made by the Chrysler company but distributed by Dodge. The name Charger was taken from a sport car made by Chrysler.

This car has its own police car version.

It’s about: $6,000 and $12,000.

DODGE DART (1960-1976)

This car was built by the subdivision of Dodge: Chrysler. These cars were made around 1960-1975.

This is a Dodge Dart from 1967

It’s about: $5,000 and $10,000

VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE (1955)

Here are two photos, one in black and the other in a mustard type of color.

There's a black and type of mustard beetles.

The “beetle” has a worldwide recognition. This were known because of their low price and their incredible physical maintenance.

It’s known as a hippie car or a car that can be tuned.

It’s about: $30,000

FORD MODEL A (1931)

This car was made in eight months, because Ford decided to suspend all the cars that were being made to finish this one.  Here are some new accessories that were included:

  • New three-speed gearbox
  • Hydraulic shock absorbers
  • Four-wheel braking system
The car owners say they are the only owners who own it (I don’t know if in the world or only in Venezuela).

It’s about: $18,000 and almost $30,000.

FORD HOT ROD or POP (1950)

It was the cheapest car in England.

One of the most classic cars that are here in the world.

It’s about: $6,000 and $10,000.

328 BOSS ENGINES IN MUSTANG

Here is an engine that was built in a Mustang

FORD MUSTANG (1965)

This is a 1965 Mustang model, people say that this model and the Mustang from 1967 were the best for their time. They have an aggressive presentation.

It’s about: $41,000 and $49,000.

FORD MUSTANG (1969)

This car model was the first to have quad headlamps placed both inside and outside the grille opening.

This is a Mach 1.

It’s about: $60,000 and $128,000.

PACKARD 180 (1941)

The original name of this car is: Custom Super Eight One-Eighty. The most visible change in the 1941 Packard model was the moving of the headlights into the fenders.

This Packard is a tuned car.

It’s about: $30,000 and $100,000

PORSCHE SPYDER

I couldn’t find too much information about this car model. I found a similar car that was built in 1941 and other one by the name of: Spyder. This Porsche is from 1972 as the owner said. I really don’t know because I didn’t find any information, but I can only say that this car is really cool to see, it has a great appearance, and from what I know this car was made for races. I saw a similar car that was from James Dean that is a Porsche 550 Spyder

It’s about: $4,200,000 and $6,000,000 of course I am not saying that this is the price of the car shown in the photo. I took this price information from Forbes

So that’s all. It was really cool to see all these antique cars that each one has their own story. My favorite one was the Porsche Spyder, looks like a James Bond car but in a modern way.
