[Tulum Mexico] Day 1 - Today was a Trip!
the incredible beach at La Eufemia!
We took two flights to get to Cancun and then two busses to get to Tulum. The first bus brought us to Playa del Carmen where we walked down the busy central street, had a bite to eat and some margaritas!
The second bus did not have a working air conditioner and we both fell asleep exhausted from the heat. Then a taxi took us to our airbnb which was awesome!
We took our bikes that were provided and pedaled for the beach until one of my pedals came off. The walk during the sweltering heat of the day was vicious. On the second bike I acquired we had smooth sailing. Found a beautiful little sofa on the beach, but here were rocks there so we didn't get in.
We aslo had a chat with a woman that worked there and she told us of spot all the way down the beach, where we would find cheap tacos and hippie types smoking weed. In fact she gave us a map and pointed out and circled the best ancient ruins places, her favorite cenotes, and the best beaches.
The bike ride was something to breath in once we topped the hill and took in the ocean view. We missed the place on the first time, but we finally made it back to the tucked away spot - La Eufamia.
We ran into the ocean and played in the waves for a while and then had some excellent veggie tacos and margaritas on the beach chairs and cushions from the bar. That photo is at the top where I look all crazy after just playing in the waves. the tacos were cheap and the hippies were cool, best beach so far!
Just a guy on the beach

food looks good!
Looks like a wonderful trip. We vacationed south of Playa recently and loved swimming and scuba in a cenote near Tulum. Go if you get a chance.
We went to Gran Cenote and Dos Ojos Cenote, both were incredibly beautiful
On our dive trip to the cenotes we swear we saw Richard Branson there diving with another group. We should have taken a picture. We later heard that Tulum is one of his favorite places.
Yes, the cenotes were the highlight of our trip. Did you swim or scuba?
We just swam and snorkeled. I definitely want to scuba next time
This is cool!
