4 DAYS IN VARADERO,CUBA - A FLIGHT ATTENDANT'S DIARY

Hello my dear Steemians,

Last week I had stand by,that means my work calls me if someone calls sick and if they need people to do their flight.
I was pretty lucky because I got the opportunity to fly to Varadero in Cuba for almost a whole week!

In Varadero we stayed in a luxurious, all inclusive hotel situated at the beachfront.

My room was quite big,I had a balcony and 2 doublebeds!

On our first day we rented a small catamaran for 20 minutes at our hotel . The water was crystal clear! It was so unbelievably blue! It felt like in a dream :)

On our second day we drove with the Varadero Hop on/Hop of Tourist bus into the city.(I was quite surprised that the bus was so modern!) We spent almost the whole day at the beach and I can totally recommend to go to the city beach as it was much more beautiful as our hotel beach! The only thing is, it's packed with tourists now. 2 years ago nobody was at the beach and you were alone.

I noticed that Cuba changed already now, especially their vehicles. The buses and cars look more modern (but of course there are still a lot of oldtimers on the street!) and they are building a lot of new hotels. Also the prices for food raised and it's getting influenced a lot by America. I think in 10 years from now Cuba will be just another expensive carribean holiday destination and will loose its old charm. So better be quick and travel to Cuba now before it's too late!

Varadero city itself is just a tourist destination, not many Cuban people live there. That's the reason why it's the most expensive part of Cuba.

All in all I loved the beautiful beaches in Varadero, much nicer and cleaner than the ones in the Dominican Republic!
