Traveller's expectations and disappointmentssteemCreated with Sketch.

Usually when travelling, we have decided which places we definitely want to visit beforehand. We look at the pictures on the Internet and imagine how beautiful the scenery would be when we arrive. Unfortunately, sometimes there are disappointments like these:

1.jpg
Who wouldn't want to visit the Great Wall of China. It isn't included in the Seven Wonders Of The World for nothing.

2.jpg
Visiting the Pisa Tower and not taking a selfie - That's not serious.

3.jpg
Some call her Mona Lisa, others - Gioconda. When visiting Louvre, this painting must definitely be viewed.

4.jpg
Picnic at the Eiffel Tower. So romantic...

5.jpg
Just white snow and mountains around you. The best place to discover a new hobby for yourself.

6.jpg
Oh, Venice! Oh, gondolas and gondoliers in striped shirts singing the famous 'O, sole mio'.

7.jpg
Sail on the famous beaches of Rio de Janeiro and feel like the king of the world. Maybe you'll even manage to meet a real celebrity.

8.jpg
On the beach of Maldives you can forget everything and relax for the next 11 months until the next vacation.

9.jpg
The Santorini island is called a revived legend. Really want to to go on a walk and enjoy the scenery of the villages...

10.jpg
Taj Mahal has a romantic history. I even read somewhere that it is considered one of the most beautiful buildings on earth.

11.jpg
There are so many beaches in Thailand, and i hope to find one where i can enjoy being alone...

12.jpg
There are many fountains in Rome, but the most beautiful of them is the Trevi Fountain.

13.jpg
Stonehenge also looks lovely in the daylight, but expect the sunrise to be not only beautiful, but also slightly mysterious.

14.jpg
The Pyramid of Giza is the greatest achievement in ancient architecture. This is to be seen while it is still possible.

I'm not a climber, but I have always wanted to get that "climb Mt. Everest" feeling.

Sort:

I definitely can relate to this, especially when I went to Venice, yea it's different but the first thing I noticed is that it stinks, almost as if the channels are both streets and sewers.
I also wonder how do people take those "good" photos, like do they zebra tape the place for an hour and let photographers go wild or what?

These places aren't always that packed, but if you're going during a peak time/season, they can be, especially if you're a part of an official tour going through the area. Definitely takes the magic out of it, huh?
