Palm Jumeirah  朱美拉棕榈岛 

Dubai's The Palm was an incredibly ambitious project. Yet it was so successfully carried out that it is now referred to as "The 8th Wonder of the World" and is actually visible from space. It is essentially a series of smaller islands bridged together to look like one whole unit. It is so big that when you initially make a turn onto the main trunk of the road, you don't realise you are actually on it! 

朱美拉棕榈岛是一个令人难以置信的雄伟计划。它于２００９年完工，被誉为“世界第八大奇迹”。据说宇航员在太空中也可以欣赏到棕榈岛那旖旎的倩影。棕榈岛实际上由一个像棕榈树干形状的人工岛、17个棕榈树形状的小岛以及围绕它们的环形防波岛三部分组成。由于面积庞大，当我们开车转到棕榈岛的主干上，根本意识不到自己已经置身其中了，呵呵。

There are over 12,000 palm trees planted along the trunk and its branches. Each one requires its own source of water supply via an underground piping network, given the intense heat all year round. 

岛上的主干和分支部分共种植了约莫12000棵棕榈树。由于迪拜全年酷热的天气，每棵树都需要自己独立的地下供水资源。 

The view from the crescent of the palm is spectacular. It's not often you get to see such a perfect blend of beach and city life fused together as one. 

漫步主干上，整个棕榈岛的如画风景尽收眼底，很难得能看到海滩与城市生活如此完美无瑕地融合在一起。

 

We sighted many of the rich jet skiing and enjoying themselves on speedboats.

许多豪华游艇和水上摩托车也尽情享受这碧海蓝天的人间天堂！ 

The Atlantis hotel resort is the main attraction on The Palm. It contains almost 1600 guest rooms as well as its own water adventure park and local beach area, Nasimi. A true sight to behold and a paradise-like feel everywhere I looked. 

巍峨雄伟的亚特兰蒂斯酒店是棕榈岛的一大亮点，这家超级大型的豪华酒店共有1600间客房，以及自己的冒险水乐园。酒店门前即是开阔的沙滩(Nasimi)，无数游客或在海浪中尽情地嬉戏，或在沙滩上悠闲地享受日光。踏入酒店，仿佛如远离红尘的人间仙境。

Burj Kalifa  迪拜塔 

The Burj Kalifa was a building of epic proportions, literally. Standing at nearly 830 feet tall and totalling more than 160 floors, it is currently the tallest building in the world. It took 6 years to complete. 

迪拜塔是百年难遇的大建筑，挺立着830英尺的高度，有160多层楼， 是目前世界上最高的建筑物。它用了6年时间才完工。 

Whilst enjoying everything else Dubai had to offer on my trip out there, I had just enough time to book the elevator ride to the 124th floor of the Burj Kalifa. On the ground floor, you are initially greeted by an introduction of how the building was built and the construction problems they came up against and overcame. Piping water throughout the entire structure being one of the main issues. This is right before you get into the main lift area and are pushed straight in the 124th floor in 1 minute! Though funnily enough you never felt a thing getting there. 

在紧凑的几天行程里，我们得以安排时间并预订好乘坐电梯登上迪拜塔124层。解说员详尽地给我们介绍它的建造过程以及如何克服所遇到的种种困难。从进入升降梯到电梯升上124楼，全程仅仅用了一分钟！有趣的是，你压根儿感觉不到如此快速的上升速度。 

This is my view when we got to the top. Looks like another skyscraper from here yet we are already so high up!  

在124楼我往上眺望，它看起来像另一座摩天大楼！ 

The view from the 360 degree panoramic observation level was incredible. Cars and people dotted the ground like ants! Buildings that from the ground looks like a tall skyscrapers resembled nothing more than a small block of flats. One cool feature were the fountains down below that were dancing in time to the music being playing in the background up here on the 124th floor!  

从360度全方位观看脚下的迪拜夜景，那种美丽和神秘是难以置信的。车和人像是蚂蚁般点缀着马路！在地面看似摩天高楼的建筑物，此时与两层高的小房屋无异。这时124层的背景音乐响起，楼下喷泉随着音乐高低起舞，场面非常美丽壮观！

Other Attractions 其它景点 

Dragon Mart is a massive mall but set up more as a marketplace than the modernised shopping centres of the city. If you want to get good bargains, this is the place to be. They sell everything from clothing and food to electronics and jewellery. If you haggle with them hard enough, you can really save a lot of money. 

龙城(Dragon Mart)与其说是大商城，还不如说是现代城市里的一个大市场。商城里面全是中国人开的中国货商铺，店店都可以讲中文。如果游客想买物廉价美的产品，这里是首选。商城里货品还真不少，从服装，食品，电子产品到珠宝。如果你擅长讨价还价，能省下不少钱，呵呵。 

There are many "souk's"' dotted around Dubai, which in Arabic translates into "marketplace". The most famous being Gold Souk market where people go to get the biggest discounts when it comes to gold or jewellery. In fact the savings are so substantial that a great many traders from other countries come to Dubai for that reason alone. I also saw many food stalls selling different types of herbs and spices from all around the world, some of which I had never even heard of.   

迪拜有很多称之为”souk”的地方，阿拉伯语翻译为“市场”。其中最出名的是黄金市场 “Gold Souk“。 那儿的黄金和珠宝价格相当优惠，不但许多游客慕名前去，也吸引了一部分国外贸易商专门前去采购。我也看到了很多食物市集，甚至一些我没听说过的香料。

Well, what a beautiful wonderland Dubai is. Around 15 years ago, it was nothing more than a small fishing village and has developed from that point in time tremendously. I could see that there are still a lot of projects under construction, but what exists already to a fantastic foundation on which to build upon. I heartily recommend anybody to go there for a vacation and enjoy the vibrant lifestyle and atmosphere. It's for sure a place you won't forget in a hurry for it's unparalleled unique vision and beautiful surroundings. 

从１５年前的一个小渔村，飞速发展到今天神话般的迪拜，真是不可小觑的转变。在现有的基础上，迪拜仍然有许多建筑项目正在施工并不断完善，以吸引更多世界游客。我衷心推荐大家去迪拜度假，这里有着完美的自然生态环境和充满活力的新型生活方式。我敢保证，这里会是你流连忘返，终身难忘的旅游胜地。
