Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (Nepal)
This one has a special place because it was a trip to mountains with my two brothers. My elder brother had just returned from Australia, which is at around Sea Level and our trip would take us to the altitude of 4500 m, which was obviously not going to be easy for him. All of us quite had the idea that this was going to be a long one when he was short of breath after walking 5 minutes. This followed with thoughts of, there’s no chance we are going to reach Annapurna base camp with this pace.
The first time I went to Annapurna base camp was a Solo Trek with the paths covered with snow and everything else frozen. While this time around everything was green and the trail covered with colorful flowers. Once my brother started to feel comfortable, we caught on with our pace and all the doubts went away. Most cherished memories of the trek were, waking up at midnight to see the Milkyway, Sharing smiles with strangers and cheering with local Drinks and Sukuti(Meat). Along with that we had our moments of dancing to rhythm of nature and incidents of fake oxygen shortage.
So as they say all is well that ends well, in the end all we were left with were wonder memories and stronger bond of our brotherhood.
I would always remember my second trip to Annapurna as "Brothers in Highland." To the brothers.
