It's so worth it....we actually stayed three nights in Pisa and used the city as a hub to do one day trips. One of the days we got up early and did this cinque terre circuit....then another day took the train to Florence. It beat the packing/unpacking and going from one hotel to another. Just a thought.
Yeah, would totally do the same...Maybe not Pisa though. Have been there before. But I'll find a place ;)
