5 Must Visit Places In Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein -
microstate located in the central Europe (officially the Principality of Liechtenstein) with city Vaduz standing as its capital. It has a population of only 37 thousand people and land area of 160 km² (62 sq mi). A country well known of its incredible past history and many castles as a proof which most of them are easily accessible by tourists and locals. Besides that, it also has a quite unique nature that attracts tourists all year long.
As some of the tourists (even locals) say: Liechtenstein is not worth your planned trip there. You should better include it as a pass-through country once you're in Austria or Switzerland. This country is so small that you can walk across it in like 2-3 hours so you shouldn't make a fully planned trip. You should better buy travel passports. It's the best way to experience it under a day.
Vaduz Castle
The symbol not only of Vaduz but also of Liechtenstein. A castle built back in 12th century which had its major restoration between 1904 and 1920. Today this castle is quite popular among both tourists and locals and is sometimes even considered as a part of nature since its quite old and fits the scenery view very well.
Gutenburg Castle
As I mentioned in the beginning, Liechtenstein has a lot of castles for a country that small. To be more specific, today it's considered that it has 5 castles in perfect condition (or close to perfect), but it if counting all the ruins the number would be way different.
Malbun
During warmer seasons like spring, summer or sometimes even fall, this is an amazing place to enjoy beautiful scenery view, spend time alone or with friends and/or try hiking trips around that magnificent area. And once it's finally winter and snow has showed itself up, this is really nice and peaceful place to go skiing.
Liechtenstein Art Museum
For art lovers this is probably one of the best places to spend their time. An international collection of modern art lets its visitors to enjoy various different events from time to time and have tasty coffee or just to spend a day in an interesting atmosphere.
Fürstensteig
A hiking path popular among adventure-seeking tourists and locals. It offers the 12 km hike and takes about 5 hours to finish. It is more recommended to fit people and especially for those who do not suffer from vertigo.
Beautiful country. Worth a visit!
It indeed is!
Thank you for this post. It is true we never hear about Liechtenstein.
