Healing of the Water

Many people claim it has healed them by touching or drinking the pure sweet water from Elisha's fountain in Jericho.

Kings 2:19-22

19 The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.”

20 “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him.

21 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’”

22 And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

This pure spring fountain still remains today and supplies most of Jericho.

I would love to be a part of this trip....and to experience history from the bible - were you allowed to experience the water or was there a barrier? I could use some that's for sure :)

Thank you @countrygirl Yes I took the photo with special permission along with several armed guard escorts, stressful! There is a public area in a small pool away from the spring. People bring pots to fill them and take back home :))

Did that kind of ruin your experience knowing you were in the very spot that the Lord spoke to Elisha? Or were you able to shut that "noise" out for a moment just to quietly take it in? I had a friend who visited the historical sites years ago and he was shocked when he saw how commercialized and guarded the spots were.

The emotional sense of awe is overwhelming! Dangerous situations comes with traveling in out of the way places. Jericho seems untouched by time, and you can imagine Elisha and the well,
also Satan tempting Jesus on his fast, because you are standing in that place. Very humbling and thrilling at the same time! :))

Why didn't I know that this was the same place of Jesus' temptation. I'll have to read up on that, again. I can only imagine the awe. Be safe. I look forward to many more of your travels.

Thank you kindly :)
